Introducing PlateIQ 2.0!

Publish date: 2024-04-29

The MLB PlateIQ tool has long been one of RotoGrinders’ most robust (and popular) tools. Having that vast array of data available on one simple screen makes research a much more efficient process, whether you are building DFS lineups or looking to place some bets.

However, even the best tools need a face-lift every now and then.

Factors such as site performance and scalability have required us to rebuild everyone’s favorite MLB tool into a cleaner version. Enter PlateIQ 2.0! This latest version is not only sleeker, but it also contains faster and more reliable data.

What is PlateIQ?

For those of you who are new to PlateIQ, it is a matchup tool that can be used for MLB DFS, sports betting, and fantasy pick’em selections, amongst many other things. It is designed with color-coded context to easily view batter vs. pitcher matchups for that day’s slate of games. The tool includes key stats, advanced stats, context stats, and split stats to help the user understand exactly who is in the lineup and how their stats compare side by side. And what’s more, these stats can be viewed at the player or team level.

What are the Key Benefits of PlateIQ?

How Can I Use PlateIQ?

Pitch Type Data

Looking for a player to bet on for Dinger Tuesday over with our friends at FanDuel? Use PlateIQ’s Pitch Type data.

In the example below, you see that has used his cut fastball a little more frequently in the last 30 days.

If we select that pitch in the drop-down for the Dodgers’, we can then see who has the highest (or lowest) ISO amongst the players in their lineup. has just an .082 ISO against that pitch since the beginning of last season, and I bet you aren’t getting great odds on Freddie most days against a righty. So maybe you take a look at the odds for and his .357 ISO? Just something to consider when using all of PlateIQ’s features.

Game Logs

Are you considering taking a strikeout prop and want to know what some of his key underlying metrics look like in recent starts? There’s no need to leave the page. Just click the Game Logs tab to see stats such as pitch count, velocity, CSW%, strikeouts, and more.
